The writing was quite good as in; it definitely kept me Monopoly Mega Anleitung and made for a fast-paced read. V marked it as to-read Shelves: freebie. Like I wish he was a little bit flawed in some way. Like how Aenor would suddenly be overcome with the need to sleep with him. I liked Lyr just fine.

The Dark King Lissianna vor 3 Jahren.

This book wasnt exactly what I was expecting in a good way. The author mentioned this was more romance-oriented than her other books. I lean more to less romance, but since I like this authors writing, I went ahead and took a chance.

Yes, the book has more romance in it, but it does still have an interesting plot about Aenors past, Lyrs past, Lyrs half-brothers, etc.

Drives me bonkers! Anyway, this was a great series starter and I look forward to the next book to find out more information about the bearer of the fruit no spoilers!

I do recommend this book, and I was provided a complimentary copy. Jun 15, Amanda Deur rated it really liked it. Wow, this was a quick read. I finished this in about three hours I think.

It says something about how much I enjoyed this book. I picked it up and didn't put it down until I finished. Plot: Once, I was a fae princess with sea-magic at my fingertips.

Im a hunted supernatural in a squalid shop, stripped of my power. After the brutal king throws me in prison, I Wow, this was a quick read. This story is quick paced, action packed and has bubbly yet intriguing characters and a budding romance.

There are little twists and turns along the way that keep the story interesting even though at times I felt as if there was too much happening in a short amount of time.

I love action packed books but there has to be a balance and there has to be room for the reader to catch up.

When too much happens at once, a reader can lose focus and get confused. I enjoyed seeing the relationship between Lyr and Aenor develop but it felt superficial at times.

It went from nothing to all way too quick. While the sexy scenes were just fine the actual relationship building could've been written better. It lacked a little and felt rushed.

All in all this was a fun and entertaining read, I really enjoyed the story and the MC's. I was ready to order book 2 and 3 and then I read a spoiler and now I'm done with this series.

Probably never going to buy book 2 or 3. View all 3 comments. Apr 18, Camila rated it really liked it.

So I was pleasantly surprised with this book. Crawford always tends to go back and forth with me. Some books are good, some are not my cup of tea.

By no means was I enamored by this book but it has a lot of potential to be more exciting in book two.

Characters: Aenor: oooh what a name. Ten points for gryffindor for originality. She's a protective momma to underserved and abused women and can run in heels through knee deep water apparently, so if anyone needs to know who I'm voting for in the next So I was pleasantly surprised with this book.

Hello, hello , Lyr, I'm a huge fan of large bodies of water. Besides that we have two spoiled brothers who are hilarious and Gina, the human who is mooching off the sea gods to stay at the Savoy while Aenor goes to save the Which reminds me I went to a Savoy hotel in Ireland for a facial and the lady literally dropped the lamp on my face mid facial, I'm not making this shit up, but otherwise was a pleasant and overpriced experience.

TBH the plot is okay, and I wonder what'll happen in book two. Cause this didn't end in a cliffhanger way but just a weird pause much like the way Crawford chooses weird times to start a new chapter.

Feb 09, Lisa rated it really liked it. Ok, this was really good. The idea was different, at least for me, sea-Fae, kingdoms and mythology under water, demi-Fae, I found it fascinating.

I struggled a bit with the world, it's a mix of humans and others but I wish that part gave more info, maybe a map of the mixed world including underneath would have helped me see it in my mind, how the two mix or don't 4.

I struggled a bit with the world, it's a mix of humans and others but I wish that part gave more info, maybe a map of the mixed world including underneath would have helped me see it in my mind, how the two mix or don't mix.

I also wish it was longer, there were parts I wanted more delving into, but, it's the first book, so, maybe moving forward some of these things will get better explained.

The story moves fast, lots going on and I was enchanted. It played like a short movie in my head and when it's over, your like Mar 28, Shyla Colt rated it really liked it.

This story has it all. Humor, heat, lore, and adventure! I didn't realize the journey of sorrow, betrayal, and confusion when I first set out.

I liked Aenor. She was a relateable character in a lot ways, just trying to survive after a massive tragedy derailed life as she knew it.

Her wit, grit, and fallible nature sold a lot of what was happening. Once a powerful princess, she lost everything when her kingdom was destroyed, her powers were taken and she was thrust into the world unprepared.

Her story is one of survival, misinformation, and so much more. I loved the progression, the portal travel, and the different worlds and beings we encountered in this story!

I wasn't the biggest fan of why they thought Aenor was such a villain. I listened to this on audio, and the narrator is phenomenal.

Also, Lyre May 22, Julia rated it liked it. This was an okay, easy read, but Ive read so many better fae series and Im just not invested enough in these characters to read the rest of this one.

And I feel bad about it because I always like to read them all. Oh well. There are no discussion topics on this book yet. Readers also enjoyed.

While imprisoned, Reina sees Isabella , a female assassin who served Dagale, being tortured to death after having received a scar on her neck from her last mission.

Reina manages to free Isabella and herself and attempt to escape the hideout, but Isabella is momentarily shot with an arrow to her back.

Raoh unexpectedly arrives to rescue Reina and confronts Juda , the leader of the gang, but Raoh decides not to kill Juda and continues on his way.

Souga and a group of men travel across a desert to a village posing as merchants, as to inspect if an army ruled by Pluto has passed by there.

Souga gathers the villagers to interrogate how the flag of Pluto's army ended up in the streets.

All of a sudden, a mysterious voice impales Souga in the chest by the now hypnotized villagers, saying that he will now have two months to live.

Souga is forced to leave and inform Raoh about this. Raoh and the others go to the village themselves and attack Pluto's army.

While there, Ryuga is also struck in the chest by the unknown voice. Raoh looks around and sees that a man named Gaiya was responsible for this, as well as for the fact that he has Pluto's army under his spell.

Raoh defeats Gaiya in one blow, causing the army to retreat. Sakuya is seen in the presence of Thouzer the Holy Emperor , but she chooses not to work under him anymore.

Sakuya, accused of betraying Raoh, is sent to prison under suspicion, though she claims she serves Raoh out of love.

As Raoh's army begin their raid toward Thouzer's castle, Raoh encounters Hucker and Lirong but easily kills them. Raoh later holds a meeting with Thouzer, who agrees to back down and let Raoh take the title of the "holy emperor" if he chooses to do so.

It is revealed that Sakuya plans to take down the fortress on her own. Reina is left to defend the office until Raoh and Souga return. Juda makes an appearance and begins to fight the warriors present in the office.

Sakuya is released from prison as is to assist Reina in warding off Juda's army. Sakuya explains to Reina that she never betrayed Raoh, instead she merely predicted what would happen if Raoh went to see Thouzer in the first place.

Juda has his army tear down the walls and attack the warriors within the fortress. Raoh manages to make it back to his kingdom and overwhelms Juda with his fists.

Because his identity is unknown, his presence is always accompanied by a dark and mysterious aura.

He shows himself to be a charismatic leader, having earned the unwavering loyalty of his allies and subordinates and is a remarkable military leader and civilization builder.

He holds a deep-seated hatred toward the human race, which denied his offer of salvation and which also probably killed him , and for this reason he decided to side with all nonhumans as the Ends and other monsters against the humans and anyone who would dare to help them, including the Drifters, the Elves , the Dwarves and the Oct.

His goal is to build a civilization of non-humans that rivals the accomplishments of the civilizations founded by humans, whom he believes to be cruel and oppressive a stark contrast to the thinking of his archenemy Abe no Seimei , who believes in the goodness of humanity and has no intention of starting a war between them and the non-humans.

However, despite this pessimistic view of humanity and the ensuing maltreatment of them on his part such as a mass slaughter of innocents and the abuse of human prisoners , the Black King has at times shown himself to have a good side as well, and is capable of kindness.

He looks after not only the Ends but also his soldiers, healing their injuries and granting them the resources they need without hesitation.

The Black King's true identity is currently a mystery, but like all his fellow Ends, he is apparently an individual from human history, whose traumatic near-death experience caused him to become completely misanthropic towards all other humans, resulting in his goal to wipe-out mankind.

Stark, however, emerges from the mock grave as a physical entity, complete with the personality traits that Thad exhibited while writing as Stark, such as drinking heavily and smoking Pall Mall cigarettes.
